This pedestal base can be used with any vise using standard 3/8" stems. It is constructed of heavy steel weighing approximately 4 lbs. It has a rubber pad on the bottom to protect against scratching the family heirloom table.


The Griffin vise pedestal base has been our "go-to" for many years now.

Dimensions are 4" x 6".

I had a vise base in a wish list of a local fly shop. I’m the guy that uses a bit too much pressure when tying flies, sometimes. So much so I clamped my vise to the table. Too restrictive. MRO pricing is always great, so I wondered why this one was twice the price of my “other shop wishlist base”. Other shop base-and I hadn’t noticed this-weighs 1 lb. Defeating my primary purpose for a base. This base purchased from MRO-weighs 4 lbs. Enough said. Price difference and purpose.
