The Pizza Delivery was created in Chile in 2005 as an over-the-top laughable fly for Andrew Grillos' clients to fish to the extra-large and often extremely gullible trout.
Clients would come from all over the world and proceed to ask Andrew what the predominant hatch they would be fishing would be, and he would notoriously reply “We’re going to fish pizza and hot dogs!”
He often used it as his guide indicator fly and would often catch fish on it during the famed salmon fly hatch.
