These tapered Slip Strike Indicators have become wildly popular out West for lake fishing trout. We have also been using them around here for panfish and crappie fishing. A wildly effective technique that allows you to fish nymphs deep!
When you need a leader that is longer than your rod, a fixed indicator isn't going to work. There would be no way to land the fish as the indicator would prevent you from reeling/retrieving enough to bring them close. These "Slip Bobbers" solve that problem. They will typically slide right down on the hookset, allowing you to land a fish as you normally would.
Instructions:
1. Thread the leader through the black insert post
2. Slide indicator to desired location on the leader and separate black insert post from indicator
3. Make a small loop in the leader between the indicator and the black insert post
4 Push the black insert post into the indicator. A small loop should be visible above the indicator, but loop should not be larger than the insert post.
