The pack works ok. I’ve used it now on several occasions and while generally serviceable, it also frustrates me too. For example, I like to put my nice, thin fly boxes in the pocket closest to my body where the are least likely to fall into the water. All well and good, except with the pack in front of me, the tension from the strap pulls on that pocket’s zipper, making it hard to close, impossible one-handed. Also, the outside-most pocket with the boxy shape and fly pad is very large, sticking out quite a bit. I’d love to be able to remove it entirely from the pack for a slimmer profile on days when I’m not carrying much stuff. Also, there just aren’t as many D-rings and Zingers as I would like. Finally, as expected I suppose, the quality of the zippers and especially, the buckles, is nothing to brag about. On the plus side, it does hold a good amount of stuff, and “slings” back and forth around me quite well. The spot in front has a nice Zinger and elastic retainer which works very well for my hemostats and I hang my gink right there next to them. The pack stays behind me when fishing, totally out of the way as it should. I’m still working out how to best use the pack, and I may make some modifications. But, for someone who would like to try out a sling pack without breaking the bank, it’s a good start.

New to fly fishing but have been fishing all my life. Got back into fly fishing recently during a trip to Oklahoma and while spinning ran into a couple wading and fishing the river. Found memories of my grandfather teaching me how to knot tie, tie flies, and throw a line. Decided I needed to get back to it... Just received this sling pack today and immediately loaded it up with my basics, a small fly box, and my woolly bugger box as well as a snack and water. Headed right to our after work location down the street and this pack worked out great on its first outing. Looking forward to getting used to the sling but the two hours dodging turtles, nabbing bluegills, and a couple of bass it worked out for me perfectly and easy to get to everything. Like Brian notes in the video a great bag for a great price. Will I move on to something else, eventually but I'm sure this bag will be around for a bit... Would love to have the option to have it on the left side, but bang for the buck and easy to use. Thanks!

I think this is a great product. After using it for about a month now, it works great. Only downside of this is that you shouldn’t tug too hard on some of the straps. I tugged a little to hard on one of the straps and the buckle broke. But for the money it is great. If you look at fish pond’s version of this, They have the exact model of this pack for 50 dollars more. So in the end great pack for the money.
