Alex's Glo Drake Spinner has quickly become our favorite and top selling Brown Drake dries. This one comes to us from our good friend Alex Lafkas. And yes, the post wing glows in the dark!
This fly works as an emerger, a dun or a spinner of course. If you had to have 1 fly to match the Brown Drake hatch, this is it!
As you know, this hatch and spinner fall usually happens right as it is getting too dark to see your fly. The post wing on this is made of Glow-in-the-Dark Flashabou and has saved many an evening's fishing the past few seasons. Hit the wing with a flashlight, or better yet a UV light for 30 seconds or so and it glows like a Beacon out there on the water!!!
Alex Lafkas has been a fly fishing guide in Northern Michigan since 2000 and has been fly fishing the AuSable and Manistee Rivers for over 20 years. Alex began commercial tying in 1994 for Gates AuSable Lodge in Grayling, Michigan. He has learned from the best anglers and guides on these rivers.
