Flip Pallot

He’s been there. Done that. And not only gotten all the t-shirts, he’s been on a bunch of them too. That’s what happens when you’re a fishing legend – and there’s no other way to describe Flip Pallot.

Ever since the day he peeled off his banker’s suit and switched to Bermuda shorts, Flip’s been writing his own script in life. For 12 years he was in non-stop demand as a fishing guide and guru in Florida’s Keys and Glades. When a hurricane wiped him out, he switched rigs and founded Hell’s Bay Boatworks which continues to thrive today. Next it was TV stardom as host of the groundbreaking Walker’s Cay Chronicles. And, later, a turn as a best-selling author.

And every step of the way, Flip’s good humor, great insight and unparalleled passion for fishing have defined his success.

Brian Flechsig

Joining Flip will be the founder and owner of one of the largest fly fishing outfitters in the country, Brian Flechsig of Mad River Outfitters. Brian is the host of the wildly popular Mad River Outfitters YouTube Channel , author, fly designer and a veteran instructor. Not to mention, of course, he's a world-class saltwater angler with over 30 years of experience.

Brian and Flip began working together well over 20 years ago when they filmed a mess of episodes of the Walker's Cay Chronicles together. A solid friendship was easily formed and the two men began teaching schools like this at various locations. They also conducted many trips together including their famous "Florida Sampler Trips". As Flip will tell you himself.. "Brian is one of the finest instructors in the fly fishing industry today and you will be glad to work with him."

Brian and Blane have also been working together closely for many years and have developed a solid friendship along the way. They have done a mess of filming together and plan on much more in the future. This will be the first of many Brian and Blane "events'' to come.

Blane Chocklett

Guide, fly designer, author, Blane grew up fishing the small mountain streams near his home in Blue Ridge, Virginia. As a youngster, he started a guiding service and, in the late 1990's, opened Blue Ridge Fly Fishers in Roanoke, Virginia. Blane has worked for years to create fly patterns that have all the intricate nuances of flies with the strike-generating action of conventional lures. His fly patterns have revolutionized the fly shop industry! No other way to put it.

Over a decade ago, Blane returned to the river where he now owns and operates his guide service specializing in float trips for Musky, Smallmouth Bass, Stripers, Trout and many other species. Blane also hosts trips at home and abroad. He is the Southeastern Field Editor for Fly Fisherman magazine as well as a brand ambassador for some of the industry's top brands: Patagonia, Temple Fork Outfitters, Scientific Anglers, Costa, Yeti, Sightline Provisions, Renzetti, Adipose Boatworks and Hog Island Boatworks.

Andy & Lily Renzetti

The Saturday and Sunday classes will be hosted by our great friends and sponsors, Lily and Andy Renzetti of the Renzetti Company. The classes will be held at their factory in Titusville, Florida, just a short drive from Flip's house.

Since the early 1970's, Renzetti has been manufacturing some of the finest fly tying vises and tools available. Andy Renzetti is credited with creating the world's first true rotary fly tying vise, that literally changed fly tying forever! Originally founded in Pennsylvania, they moved the company to Titusviille in 1996. Renzetti Inc. currently employees 11 associates, including Andy, Lily and their 25 year old son. They have a well trained, wonderful, caring staff that makes everything possible. Their primary business is the manufacturing of the finest fly tying and rod building equipment in the world, but they also provide engineering and manufacturing services to many other industries around the country. Renzetti, Inc. owns many patents and trademark and was again, the first fly tying vise manufacturer to offer a True Rotary Vise

We cannot thank these folks enough for hosting and sponsoring this very special event. We could not do this without their friendship, their support... and their vises!
