This Woolhead Sculpin pattern has been in our line-up around here for many, many years. Basic woolhead style sculpin pattern that we believe was originally developed by Mike Lawson of Henry's Fork fame. Wool head, hen saddle pec fins and rabbit strip. Couldn't be simpler but truly one of our favorite sculpin imitations.
Standard for years around here and it still takes big browns every season. Also an excellent smallmouth bass fly! Also a must have for just about any Alaska trip where you are targeting rainbows. Not the sexiest fly in the bin but one of the most successful. You could say that this one catches more fish than fishermen. Don't overlook this fly!
Woolhead Sculpin sold here in a size 4. This fly measures approximately 3 3/4" long.
