Alaska’s Naknek River has emerged as one of the top trophy rainbow trout fisheries anywhere! We have teamed up with Katmai Trophy Lodge in King Salmon, Alaska, to offer a special trip targeting the trophy rainbows of the Naknek. These fish will be in prime condition after spending the summer feasting on sockeye salmon smolts and salmon eggs. When eggs are gone, the rainbows will feed on sculpins and leeches.
We will focus on swinging and stripping sculpin and leech patterns for these rainbows. Most will be in the 24” to 30” range, but fish up to 36” are taken every Fall. We will fish single-hand, switch, and two-hand rods.
There will also be an optional side trip, if weather permits, for trophy Arctic char and grayling.
Plan to arrive in King Salmon, Alaska, on October 1. Fishing days will be October 2-5, with departure on October 6. We have negotiated a special, late-season price of $1995.00 (normally $3295.00) with Katmai Trophy Lodge for 5 nights, 4 days fishing with deluxe accommodations, meals, and guides. You may also opt to add an additional day or two to the trip. Air fare, add-on days, and side trips are in addition to the base price.
