Every steelhead anglers knows that in the winter steelhead love to eat the little black stonefly nymphs that are crawling on every rock. The Steelead Stone not only looks like the real thing but is tied on a strong enough hook to withstand the power of big steelhead. This pattern is useful in the great lakes as well as on the smaller rivers out west.
This one comes to us from Jerry Darkes. It's a fly he's been using on guide trips for years and also a fly that was featured in his video "Cool Flies for Hot Fish"....think he called it the Simple Stone there.
We carry the Steelhead Stone here in Black on a size 10 hook.
