Metz does a really good job with their Hen products. These feathers are longer and skinnier than Whiting Hen Saddles.  When you need consistency in the web and the shape of the feather, these are the ones to go with.

So I have one of the ginger/ brown colors. I would almost dare to say it's better than partridge. Sure it's not a classic material but I have much better success with flies tied with these than I do with flies tied with partridge
