Tiemco 200R Fly Hooks
$11.55
Great hook for both nymphs and dry flies. Stoneflies and hoppers in particular. Also famous for Kaufmann’s Stimulators.
Tiemco 200R fly hooks are most famous as the hook often used on Stimulators. They are very popular for stoneflies in general as well as hoppers and foam terrestrials.
Tiemco fly hooks were first made in 1984 by Tiemco’s hook designer, Ken Shimazaki. It was not an auspicious time to introduce Japanese hooks to the U.S. Undeterred, Umpqua’s founder, Dennis Black, one of America’s greatest commercial tyers, tested these new hooks, and with a simple handshake with Tiemco’s Toshi Shimoda, agreed to distribute the in the U.S. With that courageous decision, fly tying- and fly fishing- would be changed forever.
The Tiemco 200R has a straight eye, standard wire, 3X long, semi-dropped point forged bronze- sizes 6-20. Great hook for both nymphs and dry flies. Stoneflies and hoppers in particular. Also famous for Kaufmann’s Stimulators.
