The Ukiyo encapsulates Tenkara USA’s commitment to portability and sensitivity in one ultra-compact rod. At just under 15 inches when closed, it seamlessly fits into any day pack, making it the perfect companion for those far-reaching mountain stream adventures.
With an extended length of 9’9” (300cm) and a weight of only 2 ounces, this rod is tailor-made for small-stream fishing without the usual heft.
A unique feature, the Ukiyo boasts a graphite swell grip, a first in their line-up, designed to elevate the angler’s experience. This, combined with their signature high-modulus graphite, ensures unmatched sensitivity. Every gentle bite, every subtle movement in the water can be felt more directly, making every catch feel all the more personal.
Another hallmark feature they have introduced with the Ukiyo is their patented “Keep-your-plug” system, a feature previously reserved for their adjustable rods. It’s all about convenience, ensuring you never misplace your rod plug during those intense fishing sessions. And, much like their other rods, aesthetics haven’t taken a back seat. The Ukiyo’s sections flaunt a mesmerizing royal blue finish, echoing its premium stature in our line-up.
In many ways, the Ukiyo is reminiscent of their popular Rhodo rod, but its emphasis on lightness, compactness, and the integral graphite grip that sets it apart. Compared to their also very compact Hane rod, the Ukiyo is lighter in weight, action, and features the more sensitive graphite swell grip as well as our keep our plug system. It’s even more compact at 14.5″ closed length and a 9.85′ opened length.

If you need to return an item for any reason
- simply follow the instructions that are provided with each order
- Send us a quick e-mail, [email protected] AND simply drop a note in the return package with the following information: Your name, Order Number, Item(s) and a quick note on reason for returning. These instructions will also be printed on the return/address form. Please note that if it has been longer than 30 days, we will need to contact you to get a credit card number in order to apply the credit. Please make sure that we get a good phone number in that case.
- Drop the item in the mail/UPS to us and that's it! We'll be looking for it!
- We will be waiting for the item and will issue an immediate credit to your credit card account or...... you may leave the money on store account for future purchases. If we don't hear otherwise, the refund will go back on the exact card used for the transaction. * If an item was not purchased via the internet....ie phone or the purchase was made more than 30 days previous, we will need to contact you to secure a means of credit.
- Once we process your return, we will make note on your "Customer Service Notes" and then drop your return/credit receipt in the mail.
- Non-defective, returned merchandise must be in re-sellable condition.
- Please make non-defective returns within 30 days of purchase- please contact us if more time has passed
