What a killer fly, finally someone pulled off a fly rodders jig-n-pig. Brutally effective on bass especially in heavy cover or dirty water. We have also used this fly extensively for redfish and also general saltwater.
Pat Ehler’s Grim Reaper fly is one that is certainly inspired by a traditional jig.

Tied on a Gamakatsu B10S so you know it will hold up on freshwater and most saltwater fish. Fish these just like you would a jig and see what happens. Drives fish crazy!
Ehler’s Grim Reaper is tied on a size 3/0 hook and comes in three deadly bass colors…..the Rootbeer here
