The Echo Overcast Fly Rod Series was designed by Flip Pallot and built for maximum line speed in freshwater and saltwater conditions.
When Flip Pallot challenged ECHO to answer a simple question- “Who wouldn’t want more line speed?”- The OverCast series was born. Designed in collaboration with Tim Rajeff, OverCast fly rods are purpose-built for anglers facing the usual challenges: wind, distance, accuracy demands, and heavier flies.
After extensive testing, the team determined that increased line speed starts with a precisely engineered, longer lever. The result is a 9’3″ rod that balances power, control and casting efficiency without compromise. Flip’s vision pushed ECHO beyond traditional design limits, prioritizing performance over cost and redefining what a high-end freshwater/saltwater fly rod should be.

Legacy Design
The Overcast series represents over a year of development and testing, much of it spent in Florida’s toughest saltwater conditions. Though Flip passed before final production, his vision, creativity, and passion are fully realized in the Overcast rod series. Flip’s Overcast will remain his lasting legacy at Echo and a benchmark for their future rod designs.
The Echo Overcast 793-4 Fly Rod is featured here. 9’3″ 7wt 4 piece. A great light/medium saltwater rod that doubles as a fantastic smallmouth and largemouth rod. We even have folks that are using this rod to swing wets and streamers for steelhead in the Great Lakes!!!!

If you need to return an item for any reason
- simply follow the instructions that are provided with each order
- Send us a quick e-mail, [email protected] AND simply drop a note in the return package with the following information: Your name, Order Number, Item(s) and a quick note on reason for returning. These instructions will also be printed on the return/address form. Please note that if it has been longer than 30 days, we will need to contact you to get a credit card number in order to apply the credit. Please make sure that we get a good phone number in that case.
- Drop the item in the mail/UPS to us and that's it! We'll be looking for it!
- We will be waiting for the item and will issue an immediate credit to your credit card account or...... you may leave the money on store account for future purchases. If we don't hear otherwise, the refund will go back on the exact card used for the transaction. * If an item was not purchased via the internet....ie phone or the purchase was made more than 30 days previous, we will need to contact you to secure a means of credit.
- Once we process your return, we will make note on your "Customer Service Notes" and then drop your return/credit receipt in the mail.
- Non-defective, returned merchandise must be in re-sellable condition.
- Please make non-defective returns within 30 days of purchase- please contact us if more time has passed
