Salmon and Steelhead - Alaska and Spey

Salmon and Steelhead flies do vary from region to region. Here in the Great Lakes, we tend to use smaller, more subdued flies. In Alaska, they tend to be larger and gaudier (is that a word?).

Below is a listing of West Coast and Alaska Steelhead & Salmon flies, but also listed are some general spey flies that are now being used more often in the Great Lakes. We have also listed some general Alaska flies that you may want to have for Dollies, Rainbows and more. Don’t forget the eggs and beads!

Be sure to see the Eggs and Sucker Spawn category also for some Alaska/Salmon Steelhead favorites as well!
