The Soft Hackle is one of the oldest known flies, or at least style of flies. Around here, we can’t say enough about soft hackles. In our estimation, they are and have always been one of the most important categories of flies that you could tie, own or fish. Combine it here with a pheasant tail nymph and you have an absolutely deadly combo.
We personally fish pheasant tail soft hackle fly patterns every single time we trout fish. Fish as a nymph, as an emerger in or on the water- available here in the most popular sizes and colors. So effective that many have devoted their angling careers to spreading the gospel of soft hackles. See Sylvester Nemes “Soft Hackle” books.
We have quite frankly struggled over the years to find good ones to sell…..ones that are hackled nice and fully and really give alot of good movement in the water. Well…..here they are. Purchase this pheasant tail soft hackle fly pattern online.
Standard Soft Hackle fly in the Pheasant Tail version sold here in sizes 12-16.
