Exclusive Bass Fishing Opportunities
Mad River Outfitters and the folks at The Wilds have joined together to offer up these exclusive fly fishing excursions to their clients!
The Wilds is the largest facility of its kind in North America. The property spans nearly 10,000 acres of reclaimed, surface-mined land- a gift from American Electric Power. Thousands of acres have been developed and divided into large sections where African, Asian and North American species of wild animals are managed. Although a private facility, the Wilds is open to the public for tours and educational purposes. During the past few years, they have invited the public to participate in their growth and development.
That's where we come in.......
Long story short, there are over 100 lakes on the property of the Wilds. These have not been fished in over 20 years except by Wilds employees. Talk about float tubers paradise! The lakes are teeming with huge Bass, Bluegill and some Catfish. Mad River Outfitters has been selected to lead exclusive fly fishing, catch-and-release excursions on the property! We are honored and thrilled to be a part of this venture.
Below is a listing of the options on the trips/guide service that we will be offering at The Wilds and we hope that you will join us for some World Class warmwater angling.

**Please note: starting in the 2006 season, you must be a "Member" of The Wilds in order to join us on any Wilds excursion, be it a single day guide trip or an overnight, SAFARI trip. This is a $69.00 membership fee for a year and can be paid directly through the Wilds. An application will be sent upon trip confirmation or you can do it through their website. More details on what is included in an individual membership to The Wilds can be found on their website also.

The Wilds Fly Fishing Excursions
1. Standard Guide Service-
Fly fishing guide service in modified jon boats (1-2 people only), canoes and float tubes, based on an eight hour day. Equipment listing and further details provided upon booking. Typical guide trips run from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
* New for the 2008 season- 3 person trips can only use float tubes, canoes, kick boats or a combination thereof, only. Only 1-2 person trips will have access to the jon boats
**One-Day guide trips available on a very limited basis (3 guide trips per month, April- October.....available dates are posted below). This is a critical part of the management of these fisheries to prevent over-fishing. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Price: $350.00 for 1 , $495.00 for 2, $650 for 3*
*** Starting in the 2006 season, anglers attending any guide trips are required to be Wilds members, a $69.00 investment per year. This can be purchased on site at the time of arrival or through their website.
2. "Bass Safaris" 3-Day Fly Fishing Outings (MRO Scheduled Trips)
Arrive Friday between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. (depending on season) for lunch and orientation, meet the guides and hit the water. We will be staying in the Lodge at the Wilds with all meals provided through Sunday breakfast. This will be a hard core weekend of Bass fishing. Eight lucky anglers can attend each camp and will be accompanied by three guides with plenty of boats and float tubes.
Price: $675.00 per angler
