We want you to fish with us.....or else!

Join hosts Brian Flechsig and Mark Giacobba for a fun 4 days and 5 nights in South Florida for our "Florida Backcountry" Trip.

Brian Flechsig began fishing the Everglades in the late eighties with his Miami based Uncles. Since then he has continued to fish and operate out of the famous "Flamingo". He also teamed up with Flip Pallot to offer the "Florida Sampler" trips from 2007 to 2009. He's happy to be back in South Florida for 2012!

Mark Giacobba was the head guide and consultant on those trips with Flip and now Brian and Mark have put together a new version of the trip.......the "Backcountry Sampler". Mark owns and operates Glades Outfitters and is one of the foremost experts on fishing in the Everglades National Park.

The Everglades-

Less than an hours drive from Miami and situated at the southern most tip of mainland Florida this 1.5 million acre (2,354 sq miles) park is the largest subtropical wilderness remaining in the United States today. This truly diverse ecosystem ranges from the open prairies of the glades, cypress swamps, freshwater ponds, brackish bays, rivers, creeks, numerous grass flats and an endless maze of mangrove islands that extend all the way to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Google Earth “Everglades National Park, Flamingo”.

Fishing within the park boundaries is undoubtedly the most diverse in all of Florida and perhaps anywhere on the planet. Targeted species of fish within the park reads like a who’s-who of game fish: tarpon, snook, redfish, seatrout, bonefish, permit, etc….

The Florida Sampler Group 2008

This trip is so easy! You get to the Miami airport on the afternoon of Monday, April 30th and we'll take you back on Saturday morning May 5th. Bring your gear!

You will arrive in Miami on Monday, April 30th and be transported to the Holiday Inn Express in Florida City. We will then spend the next four days and five nights based out of there for some "bang-up" saltwater fishing.....some of the best South Florida has to offer.
This is the closest loding available to the boat launch at Flamingo and you will be escorted to the boat each morning and then back in the afternoon. We will then spend the next four days and five nights based out of there for some "bang-up" saltwater fishing.....some of the best South Florida has to offer.
The focus of this trip will be Tarpon! Brian and Mark have selected the dates/tides/moon specifically to target the plethora of silver kings in the area at the time. But of course, you also have the chance to fish snook, redfish and trout as well! We will also have the freshwater Glades bass fishing as a backup if the weather should present a problem.

A full equipment listing and further itinerary/details will be provided upon sign-up....but plan on having an 8 and a 10wt along!

This trip is sure to fill up fast as it is limited to 8 anglers- if you are interested, please e-mail or call Brian Flechsig at the shop!
