"The New" Cinco Rios Lodge
Patagonia, Chile
March 7th- March 14th 2009
(private, individual bookings available also- January, February and March)
An impressive, scenic flight on a 737 jet from Santiago, with a stop in Puerto Montt, travels along the incredible Chilean Andes and brings you to Balmaceda and a spectacular, awesome world.....and Cinco Rios Lodge! Chile's Region XI lies within parallels 44.30 and 46. The Aisen District, a narrow strip of land within an entanglement of islands, fjord, bocas and channels, appears to drop into the Pacific Ocean. Thousands of glaciers and waterfalls pool to form deep lakes and then flow through reed-lined channels, wild rivers and dark canyons. These peaceful depths of Chilean Patagonia are home to an abundance of healthy, resident brown trout and some rainbows.

New Lodge for 2008!
Cinco Rios Chile, located on the banks of the Rio Simpson, and overlooking scenic Coyhaique, is a full service lodge where we can house up to twelve guests. The lodge building has bedrooms with private baths and a comfortable living room for relaxing. A main Quincho or Great Room invites guests to relax, swap fish stories, and make plans for the next day's angling. Also located in the main building is the dining room where both breakfast and dinner will be served. Here guests prepare their individual streamside lunches and meet for social hour after fishing. We will have our own chef who will be providing breakfast and dinner plus all the makings for your lunches.

Streams and fishing in this area are within 45 minutes to an hour or so from Cinco Rios, Chile. Many of the streams have seldom, if ever, been fished; some have been discovered only recently. The streams offer diverse fishing; incredible, exciting dry fly action; and, challenging sight fishing in pristine, clear waters. Some brown trout, only accessible by our jet boats because of limited roads, have never seen a dry fly. Browns average 18 inches and many are larger!
A typical fishing itinerary would be as follows:
-2 to 3 days on the Paloma river and its tributaries: the Rio Azul, Rio Megote, and the Elizalde Outlet
-2 days on the upper and lower Rio Simpson. The upper Simpson is a walk-in trip and the lower Simpson a float trip
- Other options include fishing small lakes such as Lago Pollux and Lago Frio for large rainbows up to 30+ inches. We will be able to fish some new small spring creeks that were discovered last year. We will also be able to fish the Rio Blanco, Rio Deseque, Rio Pica Flora, Rio Nireguao and Rio Manihuales.
All the fishing will be within and hour or so from our location with most trips being shorter. We will be able to accomodate a maximum of twelve guests and the trips will be hosted by Brian Flechsig of Mad River Outfitters.
One of the highlights of this trip is that the fishing structure and scenery will be constantly changing. A good portion of the fishing will be with dry flies such as big beetles and grasshoppers.
