We are thrilled to announce our latest venture! MRO has teamed up with Andy Jensen, owner and captain of the soon-to-be-famous "Fly-N-Carp". Andy is a master carp angler and will be offering exclusive guided fly fishing trips for these monster gamefish during the months of June and July for the 2008 season......after a fantastic 1st season in 07! These trips will be conducted on several pieces of water near Columbus, Ohio that Andy has been researching for several seasons now. See all of the details below!
The "Fly-N-Carp" is Andy's pride and joy! It is an "Ohio Flat's Boat", especially designed for Carpin'! It has a poling platform where Andy resides during the day while poling along the flats and searching for monster carp! The casting deck is the perfect set-up for fly anglers and the boat has a small outboard for moving from spot to spot. This may well be the ultimate "Carpin" machine!
These trips are very limited...so if you are interested....please read the details below and let us know. Experience the thrill of sight fishing for carp on the flats....right here in Central Ohio. Each trip will depart from the public launch sites on these waters at 8:00 a.m. and you will be in for an afternoon of some of the best local carp fishing available. Andy feels that he will be able to open the doors of catching this wonderful and elusive gamefish, and...if you are patient, quiet, and skilled.....you have a great chance of landing one of these monsters. After six hours of intense fishing, he will drop you at the launch with good stories and a stronger addiction for the Golden Bone!
"Fly-N-Carp" Trip Info:
When: Sundays and Mondays during June and July (carp season) *please call or e-mail for available dates
Where: Alum Creek Reservoir only for the 2008 season. Andy has found this lake to be the most reliable and interesting in the area. A map will be provided upon sign up
Times: All trips will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is based on best available light due to the fact that this is strictly sight fishing. You will be required to meet the "Fly-N-Carp" at the dock promptly at 8:00 a.m. and board the boat.
What is included: The "Fly-N-Carp" in it's entirety along with it's Captain Andy Jensen as your guide for the day and his promise that the client is safe, comfortable and satisfied during a six hour guide trip.
The Client is Responsible For: Transportation to and from the launch site, Fly fishing gear and flies (equipment listing provided upon sign-up), Bring your own lunch and drinks....cooler aboard, Ohio fishing license, willingness to have a great time on the water
Trip Cost: $250.00 for 1 or 2 anglers
*please note that this is preferred as a one angler trip if you are serious about catching a big carp- it can be done with two, but deck time is shared and greatly reduces your chances in this highly technical game!
