Alaska Fly Fishing
The Chosen River Float Trip- Alaska
July 2nd- 8th (same days, every year)

Floating the Chosen River is one of the ultimate fishing and wilderness experiences. This scenic river flows through the designated wilderness area of Togiak National Wildlife Refuge (TNWR). Most of Alaska's big game and bird species are common within the TNWR, during your float trip it will be possible for you to see many in their natural habitat.

Dave Duncan and Sons is a family owned and operated business that specializes in remote wilderness base camps and float trips. Their family has more than one hundred years of combined experience guiding and supporting fishermen in Alaska's remote wilderness. They pride themselves on providing anglers the chance to experience incredible fishing in a wilderness setting with little or no other fishing pressure.
The Duncan family has spent over twenty-five years developing specialized camps and boats for comfort and convenience. Only the best inflatable boats, tents and camping equipment are used. Each raft features rowing racks, floor boards to stand on while fishing and anchoring capabilities that allow guests to fish any drift in the river.

You will be flown by a chartered float plane to an isolated wilderness lake surrounded by stately mountains. This is the beginning of a remarkable journey down a small river that has incredible numbers of Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling, Dolly Varden and ALL FIVE SALMON SPECIES! The river continually grows in size and changes in character as it flows from the mountains, through the foothills and finally merges with the sea. This is typically a great fishing week!! We will be the 1st group of the season to float the river and it is almost always a great week for "Mousing" rainbows!

"The staff was excellent and had the mechanics of the trip down pat. Very personable guides, all you do is eat, sleep and catch lots of fish!" Bob Dinal, Lakewood, Colorado
"Of all the fishing experiences this old timer has had, none exceed the thrills of the float trip, the exhilarating wilderness of Alaska, the vigorous Rainbows and Char and the variety of salmon. Memories are vivid even without the photographs!" Dewey Wells, Blowing Rock, North Carolina
When it's time to load the plane and return, the person going home is a different person than the one that came. He or she has a deeper appreciation of, and respect for, the fishing experience and Alaska's vast wilderness.

Trip Notes:
Plan on arriving in Anchorage on Saturday, July 1st and staying the night, we then need to be in Dillingham no later than 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd. Alaska airlines and Peninsula Airways have flights to accomodate. Once in Dillingham we will then be flown by Grumman Goose to the Chosen River by Freshwater Adventures. The cost of this flight is $200 per person and can be paid upon arrival at their office in Dillingham.
At the end of the float, on Saturday, July 8th, we will then be flown from Quinhagak to Bethel and this flight is already booked. You can pay this directly to the flight service upon arriving in Bethel. The cost of this portion of the flying is $100.00. This flight will depart Quinhagak at approximately 3:00 p.m. and arrives in Bethel at 3:45 p.m.
You should then book a flight out of Bethel back to Anchorage on Alaska airlines that departs Bethel after 5:00 p.m. Late night flights out of Anchorage are standard or you can stay over and depart on Sunday the 9th.
Mad River Outfitters and/or Dave Duncan and Sons can help with flight arrangements and lodging in Anchorage if necessary. There is also a travel agency that will be recommended upon sign up.
