Abel Super Series #12W Fly Reel
The Abel Super 12X is a reel specifically targeting tarpon, large tuna, giant dorado (mahi-mahi), sailfish, wahoo and other saltwater speedsters. It is an extreme large arbor reel for 11 and 12wt fly lines and provides anglers rapid line pick-up capabilities. The precision ratio of spool size to large arbor (hub) makes the reel unique in the fly fishing industry!
* Since 2007, all Super Series reels size 6 and larger and all Big Game reels size 3N and larger have been fitted with the new Double Pawl system. Two pawls instead of one are a bit more reliable when big fish are headed for the horizon; but the best thing is the really neat sound they make. Instead of click, click, click...double pawl reels hum a merry tune of clickclickclickclick. Cool!
The Abel Super 12X weighs 9.7 ounces. It holds 350 yards of 50lb gel-spun or bionic braid backing with an 11wt fly line and 300 yards with a 12wt.
