The Rio Grand- One of our all-time favorites!
The RIO Grand is state-of-the-art in fly line technology with distinctive benefits for the trout fly fisher- the perfect line for wet and dry fly fishing.The weight forward taper has a slightly heavier load to activate the faster modern fly rod, yet the rear taper is long enough for roll casting. Manufactured with RIO's proprietary process, the tip floats extremely high, yet gives a smooth light delivery of even the smallest dry fly. The line, with a supple coldwater, super slick, self-lubricating, dirt-resistant coating on a nylon multifilament core, includes a welded loop on the front end for changing leaders. Tests prove excellent turnover and presentation with this loop- when you land a fish, it slides through the rod guides more easily than a customary nail knot. Traditionalists can cut off the loop, without compromising the taper.
New two-tone color for 2010 is pale green with a lt yellow running line. Now featuring the breakthrough "Agent-X" coating, Rio's "Super Floating Tip" technology, AND...the new XS technology! Extraordinarily slick! Now also features loops at both ends.
