Fly Tyers are going crazy over this Barred Saddle Hackle from the folks at Montana Fly Company. They have developed a process of "mechanically" barring these feathers which imitates natural grizzly. Some even say it's better as it is more bold and more uniform.
Many streamer and saltwater tyers are using this stuff in their patterns. We first learned of it from Kelly Galloup. He's been featuring it a bunch. Works great most anywhere that grizzly would and makes for some great looking Wooly Buggers as well.
Barred saddle feathers come 1/4 oz per package of 5" - 7" feathers. Colors are Gray/Black, White/Black, Brown/Black, Yellow/Black, Tan/Black, Rust/Black and Chartreuse/Black.
