Fly Makers Wax
Fly Makers Wax, also known as cobblers, wax, has long been important to the Fly Tyer. These waxes aid the tyer in many ways from helping dubbing to adhere to preserving and water proofing the silk threads. We are carrying #721 the workhorse of tying wax formulas. This wax has a medium tack with medium hardness. To soften shave off a small amount and roll on hand or between fingers to make a ball. The warmth of your hand will slightly soften. Place the small ball of wax on your hand as does Kelly Galloup or on an index card next to your vise. Fly Makers wax #721 can be softened or used in its original form. This is the preferred wax of Tim Flagler for securing thread in the whip finish. The right amount of tack allows thread to stay put and not slip. - Medium Tack
